South Africa Tour Itineraries
To most people, including myself, the idea of going to South Africa never really had much appeal until I sat and really thought about it and looked into it. When I did, I discovered that South Africa could quite possibly one of the most interesting places I have researched. Unfortunately due to the size of South Africa I cannot report on all safaris, tours and attractions, however I can do my best to report on the most interesting aspects. The main thing that appealed to me, I must admit, has to be the Kruger park Safari Tours. There are several different tours that are offered and these include: The Cape Town, Sabi Sands and Victoria Falls adventure. This adventure involves visiting the main attractions of Cape Town before travelling to a small family run lodge. You will visit the Sabi Sands and eventually Victoria falls, one of the seven of the worlds natural wonders. This trip lasts a duration of nine days. Another tour is the Safari Adventure. You are taken to the very heart of the Kruger reserve to kick start this wonderful adventure before spending a night in Johannesburg and then spending time in a lodge that overlooks the Zambesi (close to Victoria Falls). This is a week long (7 day trip). Yet another Safari Tour is the 'Classic Cape Town, Kruger and Victoria Falls'. This trip starts at Camps Bay before you spend time in the older and more classic and tradition areas of Cape Town. You will then see a game viewing in Timbavati before entering the private reserve. You will then stop in Johannesburg before viewing the spectacular Victoria Falls and taking part in exciting activities. This trip lasts for ten days.
As for the sightseeing, Cape Town has to be, in my own opinion, the best place to go. This is because it includes as many shops, bars, restaurants as your heart desires but is also filled with landmarks, monuments, attractions and fun activities. Cape Town has fascinating history spanning back to the mid-17th Century. It offers museum, monuments and many places of cultural interest that are scattered all across the peninsula. All it takes is a wander through the inner city (along Adderley Street) to ensure you see parliament buildings, such as the Slave house, company gardens and plenty of other 18th Century Architecture. The main things to do in Cape Town include: - Discover Robben Island - Go with the Fun Bus - Tour with Townships - Heliflip - Day tour - Travel the Whale Route - Gamble at Grandwest - Explore the peninsula - Explore Hout Bay - Go surfing - Play golf - See the magic of gemstones at the Scratch Patch - Visit Victoria and Albert waterfront and much much more! There is other sight seeing besides Cape Town, however due to the vast amount, I only picked three to talk about. These are: 1820 Settlers National Monument, Afrikaans language monument and Freedom Park. The 1820 Settlers National Monument honours the contribution to the South African society made by the first big influx of English settlers. The monument overlooks Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape. The Afrikaans Language Monument in Paarl, Western Cape, was erected in order to honour the Afrikaans language which is completely unique to South Africa. Freedom Park is a park that includes a memorial, an interactive museum, and a garden of remembrance. The park strives to accommodate all of the countries unfolding to tell the story of the struggle for freedom in South Africa. These are just some of the many unique and wonderful attractions you can visit while in South Africa, and I would definitely recommend a trip here to anyone! - Luceh
